The Consumption Profile provides a robust analysis of your client's energy usage before installing solar.
When you first enter the Consumption Profile, you will have the option to choose whether to plug estimate the consumption by plugging in the electric bill or upload Green Button Data. For more information on Green Button Data, please view our article entitled Green Button Data.
If you choose to Estimate Consumption using Electric Bill, follow the steps below on modeling your customer's consumption:
- Plug in a Utility Provider, Utility Rate, and the Rate effective period. Under the Location drop down, choose the location closest to your site. Aurora will pull weather data from this location to interpolate consumption values if necessary.
If you're unsure of the location closest to your site, choose the top choice as the list is sorted by location proximity.
After you choose a location, click the green submit button in the bottom left of your screen.
Once you have submitted, you will be taken to the main consumption profile. You have the option to input these values by energy or by the bill value.
When you plug in a value, Aurora will automatically interpolate the remaining values for the rest of the year. Of course, the more information you can provide, the more accurate your consumption profile will be.
Aurora also has an hourly load profile. This will visualize your base load, or the amount of energy consumed under ideal conditions. Here you can specify if your customer has a pool, an electric vehicle, or air conditioning. You can also clarify what type of heating and lighting they use. When you an adjust a value, the hourly load profile will accommodate your changes.
