We’re excited to announce an enhancement to the component selection experience for customers using third-party ownership (TPO) integrations in Aurora: AVL Component Selection for TPO Financiers. In both Sales Mode and Design Mode, users will now see a tabbed view for components within the Approved Vendor Lists (AVLs) for GoodLeap, EnFin, and LightReach.
This update is designed to empower salespeople and designers with visibility into which components are approved by specific financiers during the design process – reducing costly errors and accelerating the sales cycle.
What’s new?
Aurora now includes a tabbed component dropdown within Sales Mode and Design Mode that clearly shows users which panels and inverters have been approved by each TPO financier that you have enabled the integration for.
Note: AVL battery support is coming soon!
Why we made this change
When designing solar systems, salespeople and designers often face uncertainty around which equipment is approved by specific TPOs, and frequently need to cross-reference with the AVL provided by the financier. Selecting non-approved components can cause rejections during the financing stage, leading to:
- Delays in the sales process
- Customer frustration
- Lower close rates
This update helps to alleviate the uncertainty when selected approved components so users can keep projects moving forward with confidence.
How it works
Select the financier
When selecting panels or inverters in Sales Mode or Design Mode, select the tab for the financier that you will be applying for TPO financing through.
You will only see the tabs available for the financiers that have been integrated in your account.
Select the component(s) from the dropdown
Select up to 5 panel models from the dropdown list, then click Place.
When selecting inverters, you will first need to select from the list of approved manufacturers, then select the inverter model. Click Auto select inverter and Aurora will automatically select the optimal inverter from the list of approved components for that financier. Click Finalize to string the system.
FAQs
Q: How often are the AVLs updated in Aurora?
A: We will update the AVLs once we have been made aware by the TPO. Changes to a financier’s AVL may not be immediately visible in Aurora.
Q: Will this also be enabled for designing ground mounts?
A: Yes, you will see the same tabbed view when designing ground mounts in Sales Mode and Design Mode.
Q: Do the tabs include every component in the financier’s AVL?
A: Only the components from the AVL that have been enabled by your account admin will be visible.
Q: Will this impact the Sync API?
A: No, this will not affect any API integrations.
Q: How does this feature interact with custom components?
A: The answer varies by TPO
- GoodLeap: Custom components are supported so long as the manufacturer is standard (i.e. not custom)
- Enfin: Custom components are supported so long as the manufacturer is standard (i.e. not custom) and the name matches an entry on Enfin’s AVL
- LightReach: Custom components are not supported at this time.
