Check out this interactive product tour to see these settings in action.
Component visibility settings allow admins to control which solar components are available to their teams based on location, financier requirements, and domestic content guidance. These settings help to ensure that sales reps and designers only see components that are appropriate for a given project to reduce risk, avoid financing issues, and increase user confidence during design and quoting.
Component settings can be applied to the following equipment types:
- Modules
- Inverters
- DC optimizers
- Batteries
Before getting started, make sure the components you want your teams to use are enabled in your account. For more information, see Enabling Solar Components (Account Configuration).

Regions
Regions allow admins to control where components can be used geographically. By assigning regions to components, you can ensure that your team only sees components that are available or supported in a given area.
How Regions work
- Regions are defined at a US state, Canadian province, or German state level
- A component will only appear as selectable in a project if:
- The component is enabled, and
- The project address is located in one of the component’s selected regions
How to set up Regions
- Select the component from the Database, then click Edit
- Click the dropdown in the Regions section
- Choose the state(s) or province(s) where the component should be available, or leave blank for all regions
-
Save your changes
Once saved, the component will only appear in projects with addresses located in the selected region(s).
Approved Vendor Lists (AVLs)
Note: AVL settings are only applicable to US customers using TPO financing.
Approved Vendor Lists (AVLs) determine which components are eligible for use with specific financiers.
How AVLs work in Aurora
- Aurora ingests and maintains AVLs directly from financiers. Any updates to a financier’s AVL will be reflected in Aurora within 2 business days.
- When a component appears on a financier’s AVL, it is defaulted to visible for that financier in Aurora.
Note: You will only see the AVLs for the financiers that you have set up the integration with.
Managing AVL visibility
If a component is approved by a financier and included on that financier’s AVL, admins can still choose whether to make it visible or hide it from the lists for designers and sales users in Aurora. To do this:
- Select the component from the Database, then click Edit
- Scroll to the Approved Vendor List (AVLs) section and review the list of financiers associated with this component
- For each financier under “Show on AVL”:
- Leave checked to allow users to use this component, or
- Uncheck to hide the component from that financier’s AVL
- Save your changes
Sales reps and designers will only see components on the AVL tab that are turned on for the selected financier.
Domestic Content
Note: Domestic Content settings are only applicable to US customers using TPO financing.
Domestic Content settings help teams understand which components meet domestic content criteria, based on your organization’s criteria and guidance from your financiers.
Aurora does not determine or certify domestic content compliance. Instead, these settings allow you to represent and reflect your own rules or direct guidance from financiers.
Organization-level Domestic Content
Using the “Meets organization’s domestic content criteria” toggle, admins can indicate whether a component meets domestic content criteria according to internal standards.
Turning this on will display the domestic content icon for users in the All modules tab when selecting components. This will not impact the AVL tabs, unless specified for each financier.
Financier-level Domestic Content
Admins can also manage Domestic Content status per financier, based on guidance received directly from that financier.
Turning this on for one or multiple financiers will display the domestic content icon for users in the AVL tab for the respective financier(s).
