| Plan requirement: Automatic adders and discounts are only available on Enterprise plans. They are not available on License plans. |
Automatic adders and discounts work just like standard adders and discounts — they modify the final price of a design — but they are applied automatically based on rules you define, rather than being toggled on manually by a rep. Once applied, reps cannot remove them.
This article covers the configuration of automatic conditions. For an overview of adder and discount fields and how reps apply them in Sales Mode, see Adders and discounts.

How automatic application works
When creating or editing an adder or discount in Database > Adders and discounts, the Conditions section offers three options:
| Option | Behavior |
| Users pick when to apply | The adder or discount is optional. Reps toggle it on or off manually for each design. |
| Automatically apply to all designs | Applied to every new design created in your account. Reps cannot remove it. Note: this applies to new designs only — existing designs are not affected unless manually updated. |
| Automatically apply based on conditions | Applied to new designs that meet the conditions you specify. Reps cannot remove it. |
| Note: Automatic application only affects new designs. Existing designs are not retroactively updated when you create or modify an automatic adder or discount. |
Condition types reference
The following conditions are available when Automatically apply based on conditions is selected:
| Condition | Trigger |
| Modules | Apply if the design uses specific module model(s). Note: if a design uses two module types but only one triggers this condition, the adder applies to the entire design's wattage or panel count — not just the matching modules. |
| Inverters | Apply if the design uses specific inverter model(s). Note: same behavior as Modules — if two inverter types are used but only one triggers the condition, the adder applies to the full design. |
| System size | Apply if system size (kW) is above, below, or within a specified range. |
| Roof pitch | Apply if roof pitch (in degrees) is above, below, or within a specified range. Use to flag steep or flat roof installations. Note: the Per sq. ft. (of roof area) rate type is not available for roof pitch conditions. For Per panel and Per watt rates, only the panels on the triggering roof section are factored into the amount. For Flat and Percentage rates, the entire system is factored regardless of which panels triggered the condition. |
| Storage operating mode | Apply if the battery is set to Backup or Self-consumption operating mode. Tip: to apply an adder whenever any storage is included — regardless of mode — select both Backup and Self-consumption. |
| Ground mount | Apply if the design contains a ground mount array. Note: for Per panel and Per watt rates, only the ground mount panels are factored into the amount. For Flat and Percentage rates, the entire system is factored. |
| Array count | Apply if the array count in the design is above, below, or equal to a specified number. Note: Aurora defines an array as one or more panels on the same inverter or microinverter — this is not driven by racking configurations and may differ from the array count shown in the Racking Summary. |
Combining multiple conditions
You can add more than one condition to a single adder or discount. When multiple conditions are configured, all conditions must be met for the adder or discount to apply (AND logic). There is no OR logic between conditions.
Example: An adder configured with System size > 10 kW AND Ground mount = true will only apply to ground-mount designs larger than 10 kW.
Viewing automatic adders in Sales Mode
Automatic adders and discounts appear on the Adders or Discounts tab of the Pricing page in Sales Mode, the same as manually applied items. They are shown with their toggle in the on position and cannot be toggled off by reps. Similarly, they cannot be manually turned on if the conditions are not met.
To modify or remove an automatic adder or discount, an admin must update it in Database > Adders and discounts.
