Overview
The Multi-Object Selection and Editing in Design Mode feature will help you more easily select and edit all your site or system objects when you have multiple objects selected. Users can select, edit, and see the details of objects like obstructions, trees, modules, fire pathways, and components at the same time.. This allows you to:
- Move faster through your design process by viewing and editing multiple design objects at the same time
- Take full advantage of tools like Auto Place Fire Pathways with easier to use selection and editing capabilities
Site Modeling Objects
When working with tools withins the Site toolbar, you are able to select and edit multiple objects at the same time. Here are the objects:
When interacting with the Site toolbar, click and drag the area you want to select and edit. The inspector with multiple tabs will display on the right side of the screen and there will be a tab for each of the objects selected.
Note: If you want to select and edit SmartRoof or Roof faces, use shift + left click to select and the items will appear in the inspector
Tooltips are provided to identify each icon. When you click into the tab, you are able to see the settings for each object type and the objects are highlighted more brightly in your design. There is also the ability to duplicate or delete the selected objects within each tab, and the deletion behavior is the same as when you use the delete key on your keyboard. Lastly, you are also able to add LIDAR and Sunpath to the inspector by toggling them on in the top toolbar.
System Design Objects
When working with tools within the System toolbar, you are able to select and edit multiple objects at the same time. Here are the objects:
This feature is particularly useful when working in the System side toolbar because many designs have more system objects. The feature works the same in System as it does in Site, as outlined above.
Note: When you select multiple objects in System including solar panels, Aurora defaults to the solar panel tab because panels are the object edited the majority of the time.
Whenever the objects from the current tab are deleted, the tab disappears and Aurora automatically switches to the bottommost tab. When you hold shift and add an object to your selection, Aurora switches to the object type that was just selected.
Selected Objects Tab
If you want to drag, duplicate or edit all of the selected objects at the same time, click on the top tab labeled “Selected Objects.” Here you have the ability to delete, duplicate, move, or rotate multiple objects at the same time. Hover over the list item to reveal the deselect button, which allows you to deselect an object type before performing an action.
