In situations where LIDAR Shading is turned off, or if Lidar data is not available for the specific project site, it becomes necessary to manually draw the trees.
To begin, navigate to the Site menu and select the Trees option, or simply press the hotkey 'T' on your keyboard.
Once you begin drawing a tree, the software will automatically attempt to align and fit the tree to any existing Lidar data that may be present on the site. This feature is particularly useful as it ensures that the trees you create are accurately represented in relation to the surrounding environment.
On the right side of the interface, you will find a menu that provides various options to customize the tree. You can adjust the shape, height, and diameter of the tree to better suit your design needs and the specific characteristics of the landscape.
Once the tree is the desired height and shape to match the project site, run an irradiance map to see how the tree affects shade conditions.
