LIDAR can be used in Aurora accurately gauge the height and pitch of your structure, as well as any trees and some obstructions.
After completing your initial design outline, click on the LIDAR button on the top menu.
- Toggle into the 3D view by clicking the 3D box icon (or holding right-click) and moving your cursor up.
- LIDAR Settings appear in the menu on the right side.
-
Calibrate the LIDAR by selecting a Source, a style, and adjust the LIDAR data by using the "X", "Y", and "Z" coordinate fields in the event that the LIDAR data does not perfectly overlay with the imagery.
-
After calibrating LIDAR, you can now proceed to use the loaded data to align the pitch and height of your roof with the LIDAR data points.
Think of the LIDAR data as a mold, and your roof model as clay. You want to shape the clay (your roof model) so that it fits perfectly into the mold (the LIDAR data).
