Admins can set an allowable base price-per-watt (PPW) range for one or more users to ensure reps stay within approved pricing guidelines. You can set a minimum, a maximum, or both. When a rep prices a design outside the allowed range, Aurora displays an error warning — both in Sales Mode and on the Project Overview and Project List pages, visible to all users with access.

Setting a PPW range for a single user
- Go to Settings > Users and licenses.
- Click a user's row to open their profile.
- Click Edit in the upper-right corner.
- In the Base price per watt section, enable the Minimum base PPW toggle, the Maximum base PPW toggle, or both.
- Enter the dollar amount for each threshold (up to two decimal places).
- Click Save.
Setting a PPW range for multiple users
To apply the same PPW range to all users in a Team or Partner at once:
- Go to Settings > Users and licenses.
- Use the filter to select a Team or Partner.
- Select individual users, or click the checkbox next to the column headers to select all users in that group.
- Click Change PPW range in the upper-right area of the table.
- In the modal that appears, enable the Minimum base PPW toggle, Maximum base PPW toggle, or both, and enter the dollar amounts.
- Click Save.
| Note: This action applies the same PPW range to all selected users. If individual users need different ranges, set them one at a time using the single-user steps above. |
PPW error warnings
In Sales Mode
If a rep edits the base PPW to a value outside their allowed range, an error warning appears on the Pricing page. The rep can still click Save and proceed, but the project will be flagged with an error visible to all users with access.
On project pages
If the current base PPW for a project falls outside the allowed range for the assigned user, an error warning appears on the Project Overview and Project Index pages. Hover over the message to view details and a direct link to that design's Pricing page.
FAQs
What happens when a project is reassigned to a different user?
When a project is reassigned, the PPW range for the newly assigned user is enforced. If the project's current base PPW falls outside the new user's allowed range, an error warning will appear on the project page.
Does the PPW range apply to all pricing methods?
PPW ranges apply to the base price per watt and are most relevant when the Price per watt method is selected. They do not apply to flat price or price per component.
Can I set different PPW ranges for different projects?
No — PPW ranges are set at the user level and apply to all projects assigned to that user. For project-level pricing control, use the Adders and discounts feature to add or restrict price adjustments.
Does the PPW range affect financing integration options?
Yes. When a user has a PPW range configured, it can restrict which solar rate rows appear in integrated financing tools like EnFin. If a rep reports that expected loan products or rate options aren't showing up, check whether their PPW range is limiting the available rates for that financing product.
