How to Use the GoodLeap Integration in Sales Mode
Overview
Aurora’s integration with GoodLeap enables you to access GoodLeap loans, leases, and PPAs, then present quotes to pre-qualify homeowners with a credit application — all within Aurora’s Sales Mode. Note: Only current GoodLeap partners can activate this integration in Aurora. To become a partner, click here.
Once the integration has been configured in Aurora, your approved GoodLeap financing products and related pricing options will be accessible in Sales Mode proposals. With this integration you can:
- Conduct a soft credit check on behalf of the homeowner and pre-approve them for a loan, lease, or PPA from GoodLeap
- Avoid errors from manual data entry across the GoodLeap portal and Aurora
- Compare multiple financing options from GoodLeap in a single proposal
How the GoodLeap Integration Works
- Step 1: Select a GoodLeap financing product, add it to your proposal, and share with a homeowner
- Step 2: Help the homeowner submit a credit application within Aurora’s Sales Mode. Note: this will result in a soft credit pull
- Step 3: When the homeowner is approved for credit, GoodLeap documents can be sent via email to the homeowner
-
Step 4: When the homeowner opens the email, they will click a link to navigate to the GoodLeap documents and complete the agreement
Becoming a GoodLeap Partner & Product Availability
In order to activate and use the GoodLeap integration in Aurora, you must first become an approved GoodLeap partner for loans, TPO products (leases and PPAs), or both. Click here to get started.
Note: Availability of GoodLeap TPO products is determined by the homeowner’s utility provider: Please contact GoodLeap for a list of utility providers for which their products are available. |
Configuring Aurora for the GoodLeap Integration
The following steps should be taken when first configuring the GoodLeap integration in Aurora, and can be adjusted later should your preferences or GoodLeap’s requirements change. These actions must be completed by an account Admin.
Activating the GoodLeap Integration
Navigate to Settings > Financing integrations and click +Add in the upper right. Select GoodLeap from the dropdown menu then enter your GoodLeap API Key Username and Password to activate the integration. The Default email entered here will be used for submissions to GoodLeap if an Aurora Sales Mode user is not themselves a valid user in GoodLeap’s system.
Also in this modal: use the Assign to… dropdown menu to make this integration available for a Partner or Partners in your account, or for non-Partner users. Click here to learn more about Partner Management in Aurora.
Loan configurations & more
After connecting the GoodLeap integration, click the ⋯ (ellipses) in its row on the Financing integrations page. Based on your needs and preferences, you can update the following advanced configuration settings:
- Integration name - change how the integration appears in the Sales Mode Financing dropdown, if helpful for staying organized
- Allow homeowners to apply from the web proposal - turning this ON will include a link to the credit application within the web proposal for the homeowner to access
- Financing types - select which Goodleap financing types are available to use in Sales Mode
- Include dealer fees - affects loans only; toggle ON to include the dealer fee in the loan amount that is sent to GoodLeap. (The dealer fee, which will always be recouped by GoodLeap for relevant products, is a % of the system cost that is added on top of the system cost and becomes the new financed amount.)
- Default email - this email will be used if a Sales Mode user’s email is not connected to a GoodLeap account (A valid GoodLeap user email must be added here)
- Additional service fee - affects loans only; include an additional fee, as a % of the total financed amount after dealer fees
TPO configurations
Note: Availability of GoodLeap TPO products in Aurora is determined by GoodLeap. If you are a GoodLeap partner for TPO, but do not see TPO products in Aurora, reach out to your GoodLeap representative to gain access. |
In order to accurately quote and present GoodLeap TPO products in Sales Mode, Admins must implement the account settings outlined below:
Enabling Components from GoodLeap’s Approved Vendor List (AVL)
Note: In order to show GoodLeap TPO pricing options in Sales Mode, the integration will validate whether a project’s design components match the AVL — it’s critical to enable these components to effectively use the GoodLeap integration. |
In your Database, enable your preferred Modules, Inverters, and Batteries from manufacturers found on GoodLeap’s AVL. For your convenience, a downloadable version of GoodLeap’s AVL is available at the end of this article.
If your business offers different pricing for backup and grid-tied batteries, you’ll need to have two copies of each battery in your Database in order for GoodLeap to pull the right pricing from the proposal. To do this, please email us at support@aurorasolar.com for assistance. Once you have two copies of the batteries, you'll need to share the naming conventions with GoodLeap for appropriate mapping.
Next, navigate to Settings > Design. Click Edit and go to the Sales Mode inverters and optimizers section. Toggle ON the Add inverters to system option and select a Default inverter manufacturer found on GoodLeap’s AVL. If more than one inverter manufacturer is enabled in your Database, Sales Mode users will be able to choose from those manufacturers.
Configuring Adders to GoodLeap Categories
Navigate to Database > Adders and Discounts to configure your adders with GoodLeap’s adder categories. Adders on proposals must be mapped to GoodLeap’s tags in order to qualify for GoodLeap TPO approval.
Configuring an Escalation Rate Range for Projects
To pitch GoodLeap’s TPO products, users must not set an escalation rate higher than 4% for projects. In order to enforce this requirement, navigate to Settings > Utility and tax rates to configure your utility escalation rate maximum to 4%. This will impact all projects, or you can set the requirement to projects in specific states.
Enabling a Proposal Template for TPO
Accessible at Database > Proposal templates, Admins can enable the GoodLeap-authored TPO proposal template for all Sales Mode users. From there, sales reps can select the GoodLeap template for projects in Sales Mode.
