Upload a customer's electricity bill to keep it on the project and have Aurora fill in their monthly usage from it. Aurora fills in usage from US and Canadian bills.
In this article:
Before you begin
- Save the bill as a PDF. Aurora accepts PDF files up to 20 MB.
- Set the project's utility rates separately. Uploading a bill doesn't change them. See Selecting utility rates for a project.
- Upload the bill before you enter any usage by hand. Uploading replaces the monthly usage already on the project, including values you entered.
Uploading a bill
Upload the bill from the project's Energy usage page. When Aurora finishes, the project shows the usage from the bill.
- Open the project and click Energy usage.
- Click Upload a utility bill and select the PDF, or drag the file onto it.
- Wait while Aurora processes the bill. Progress shows under Uploading..., and a message tells you when it's done.
- Review the month fields and correct any value that doesn't match the bill.
The bill appears under 1 file attached, and the charts and totals show the usage from the bill.
What Aurora fills in
- Aurora fills in the month the billing period ends. For example, a bill for September 12 to October 12 fills in October.
- If the bill includes a usage history, such as a 12-month chart or table, Aurora fills in every month it covers.
- Aurora estimates any months the bill doesn't cover from the usage it found, the same way it does for Monthly estimate (1-12 months).
Removing a bill
You can attach one bill at a time on the Energy usage page. To upload a different bill, remove the current one first.
- Under 1 file attached, click × next to the file name.
- In Delete utility bill, click Delete file only to keep the usage the bill filled in, or Delete and clear usage to clear all monthly usage on the project, including values you entered by hand.
FAQ
The month fields didn't change after I uploaded a bill. Why?
Refresh the page. The charts and totals update right away, but the month fields sometimes don't update until you refresh.
Can I upload bills with the Aurora API?
Yes. See Run Utility Bill Upload in Aurora's API documentation.
