Admins can enable any combination of three pricing methods in Aurora:
- Price per component - A combination of component price and component quantity
- Flat price - A customizable, user-set dollar amount
- Price per watt (PPW) - A combination of base PPW and system size
Beyond these foundational starting points, adders and discounts can be applied to designs, and dealer fees can be included when applicable financing products are selected. Read more: Adders & Discounts, Financing in Aurora.
General Pricing
Use the left-hand navigation to open Settings, then click Pricing defaults to make changes to your enabled pricing methods.
Click Edit in the upper-right corner of the page and make selections for each of the following:
- Starting price - a fixed price that gets applied to the cost of every design
-
Pricing method - enable one or multiple pricing methods; any selections made here will be available to users via the Pricing page in Sales Mode and Design Mode
- Price per component - A combination of component price and component quantity
- Flat price - A customizable, user-set dollar amount
- Price per watt (PPW) - A combination of base PPW and system size
- Default pricing method - if you’ve enabled more than one pricing method, choose which is the default selection for all projects and designs
- Base PPW - the default PPW for every design (relevant only if Price per watt pricing is enabled)
- Allow PPW to be edited - use this toggle to allow Sales Mode and Design Mode users to edit the PPW when accessing the Pricing page
- Show PPW dropdown - use this toggle to show or hide a dropdown on the Pricing page, which includes PPW calculations for base, gross (without storage), and gross PPW (with storage)
Component-based Pricing
When Price per component is enabled as a pricing method, Admins will also need to add prices for all enabled components in the Database.
Note: in this context, “components” refers to solar system components only — not batteries. While Admins can also set per-unit costs for battery models in their Database, those component costs are included in system pricing independently (e.g. even when using flat cost or PPW pricing, batteries are priced by their per-unit cost.)
Use the left-hand navigation to open Database, then click on any of the following to edit model prices:
- Modules
- Inverters
- DC Optimizers
- Combiner Boxes
- Load Centers
- Disconnects
- Service Panels
- Meters
After clicking on a model name from the list, a left-hand tray will open. Click Edit in the lower-right corner then use the Price field to enter a price-per-unit. Click Save in the lower-right before exiting.
Now, whenever this model is used in a design (and Pricer per component is enabled), the associated cost will appear on the Pricing and Financing pages, and also the System Summary in Sales Mode.
