To enable better decision-making by reps and homeowners they work with, up to two financing options can be compared side-by-side in Sales Mode and in the Web Proposal. Comparisons can help educate homeowners about the benefits and tradeoffs of different financing options like loans, leases, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and cash.
Table of Contents
Comparing Financing Products in Sales Mode
Click “Compare” to open the Compare Financing Options page.
From here, a second two-part drop-down menu will appear. (Note: any incentives, adders, and discounts info will be hidden.)
There are several important areas to note on the Compare Financing Options page:
- Selected financing will be populated with the previously selected financing product. This product also drives all calculations throughout Sales Mode, on the (previous) Financing page and elsewhere, even after a ‘Compared financing’ is selected.
-
Compared financing is used to select a second financing option. All fields below such as ‘Monthly Payment’, ‘Net Cost’, and ‘Financed Amount’ will update automatically.
- These calculations will not flow through to other areas of Sales Mode
- Include comparison in proposal toggle will include both financing options on the Web Proposal, which can be generated by clicking “Share” in the main Sales Mode drop-down menu.
- Use tax credit to pay down loan toggle will appear if relevant for products chosen in both the ‘Compared financing’ and ‘Selected financing’ menus. The option will be grayed out if not applicable.
- Expand details reveals the ‘Lifetime Savings’ dollar value (otherwise hidden) and a Cashflow chart, which can toggle between Annual and Cumulative Cashflow. See below.
Adding Financing Comparisons to A Web Proposal
In the upper-right of the Compare Financing Options screen, toggle “Include comparison in proposal” to include both financing options on the Web Proposal. To create and share a Web Proposal, open the main Sales Mode drop-down menu in the upper-left of the page, then click “Share”.
Shown below are the areas of the Web Proposal that will include the financing comparison, if selected.
Estimated Savings
In this section, the proposal’s recipient will be able to see both financing options. The chart below is a good visual to understand how they compare to each other.
Top Financing Options
In this section, both financing options will appear side-by-side. Similar to the experience within Sales Mode, the proposal’s recipient can click “Expand Details” to reveal the Lifetime Savings figure, as well as the Annual and Cumulative Cashflow charts.
System Summary
Here, the proposal’s recipient will be able to toggle between their financing options. When they do, Incentives will change to reflect the eligibility with the selected financing.
